Booted Not Suited

Booted not Suited more traditionally known as ‘suited and booted’ takes you through five different bold prints to create a collection inspired by the working ethics of women in today's society. Each print portrays a roll of work just made that extra bit funky with style and colours. I decided to play around with the title and called it ‘booted not suited’ because I wanted to create something different for the working women with a concept of being a bit more out there rather than being typical and sticking to the normality of work wear.

I found the fabrics online on a really great site called Fashion inspiration, before I started this collection I was feeling a bit lost in terms of what my next project would be but once I found this site the fabrics just jumped out of me and I slowly started having ideas of how each fabric could be brought together to create a collection that coincided with one and other. I then started on the sketches and decided how I could bring the fabrics together to bring out the concept of the collection. I kept the cuts quite simple leaving the prints to do the talking.

When I did the shoot for it I was really excited because I pictured how I wanted them to look and I knew exactly how I wanted the models to be with their poses. On the whole I was very happy with the outcome, I got a chance to work with amazing photographer Matt Jones, we met up before the shoot took place and he got a really good idea of what I wanted and when we arrived on the day he had everything set up ready to go, it was such a laid back photo shoot, I will be definitely be working with him in the future.

The Make-up artist Lizzie Mazza did an incredible job with the make-up, I have worked with Lizzie before and I knew I found my make-up artist for the collection and for future work. For the last shot of the day she painted a candy skull on one of my models to tie The Tattoo Artist together and I was just in awe, Shes an incredibly talented make-up artist.

Since the shoot I have been on a mission to get this collection out there, Contacting blog that I already connect with but also new ones even from across the seas, I’ve also managed to get the collection into a few independent magazines that are online and also distributes around the world one of them being (urbancoco) as well as having space in there magazine I will be on there online magazine with an interview and images. Out of all my collections and work in general I really feel I’ve Pushed my boundaries on this one from the concept to the designs even the images so I really want to get it out there and get Leren Connor even more on the map. Talking of which if there is any Fashion Bloggers who would like to get involved with this please do get in touch.
